North Wales trip

Join us for a big weekend camping and climbing the crags and quarries in North Wales. We’ll be a stone’s throw from Yr Wyddfa (the mountain formerly known as Snowdon) with great sport and trad climbing in easy reach.

  • Travel up on Weds 30th August
  • Three days of climbing: Thurs 31st August – Sat 2nd Sept
  • Travel back Sun 3rd Sept

When? Weds 30th August – Sunday 3rd of September. We’ll aim to be climbing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with Weds and Sun being travel days.

Where? In the mountains of North Wales. The terrain can be tricky in places and phone signal patchy, this trip is likely to feel more adventurous and physical than previous club trips.

What? Climbing! North Wales is known for its excellent trad climbing, there are also many sport climbing areas.

How much? If 20 people come, it will be £77.18 per person for the accommodation for four nights. This works out to be £19.30 per night. We will know for sure once we know how many people would like to come but this is our ballpark figure.

Where will we be staying? A Hostel near Caethro, North wales. The sleeping arrangements will be shared bunkhouse rooms (shared with other club members, we will have the whole bunkhouse to ourselves!). You will need to bring your own bedding. There is a big kitchen, showers, toilets, a log fire, grounds to roam in and a fire pit. We may be allowed to use tents, but this is yet to be confirmed. The maximum capacity is 26 people.

Who? Are you comfortable belaying and climbing on a toprope? Excited to climb with like-minded folks and experience a beautiful, mountainous environment? If so, then you!
